Oke, John Legend, 'All of me' as we all know comes on about a 100 times day. And since we drive around a lot, we hear it a lot. And when I hear it a lot, it get's stuck in my head.
So today I was singing 'Cause all of' .... and then Max said ME!
(I never taught him, he learned the song from the radio!) I said What?!
And then he sang LOVES to which I sang 'all of you.'
And then we performed a duet!

Unexpected friendships
A little over a year ago I started volunteering for the Literacy Center here in town. I met my student, visited with her every week and became friends along the way.
I taught her english and she thought me about religion, being a good person and raising your kids right.
Today I called her for the first time after a long break (on my end, I have been completely involved with Max and have totally neglected a life besides Max). I shared my situation and concerns with her, and this is what she said:
I love you, your husband, your son and your family. I will pray for you every day and so will my husband and children. Know that you are not alone, you are strong, you are courageous and miracles happen all the time if you let them. Your son can heal, there is so much hope.
Then she said, I am in a park right now, where are you? I told her I was home. She asked me if I wanted to pray together. Ehm, way out of my (Dutch) comfort zone, but her question was so sincere I could not say anything but yes..
And so we prayed together, she talked to God and prayed for strength for me & healing for Max.
She then expressed in prayer how grateful she was for my fathers recovery (what he does not know is that she has been praying for him non stop since I told her he was sick).
And we ended the prayer there, amen.

Jefferson, Texas
We can drive an hour and go back in time. Jefferson, Texas is in many ways still like it was; Old store fronts, antique stores, horse carriage rides, historic homes and more. A great place to spend the day.
This is Max; you tell him, 'don't bite on the entire sucker.' And he'll look you straight in the eyes while biting on it anyway, sigh.
Max wanted a pop. Hmm, try explaining that he can't because these are antiques.
The nice lady in the store gave us one anyway.
Ha! Karma for daring me with the sucker, ants in his pants :-).
