To be loved

Yesterday Maxwell had a performance with his school. 4 classes were going to sing 3 songs for all the parents. When I entered the room everybody looked at me and I heard Maxwell crying. He had seen a little friends mommy come in and got so upset I wasn't there (yet). He was crying really loud and saying: "My mommy's not here :-(."

So when I walked in one of the teachers summoned me to come and jokingly said: "Well, now we all know who Max's mom is." Max had stopped crying and was just so happy to see me. I hope I will never forget the look on his face: "My mommy is here!" He gave me a big hug and a kiss and could not stop staring at me. I felt so incredibly loved...

For your child to be so happy to see you, so easily comforted by your presence, it made me feel like a million dollars. All was good again in Max's world and I felt like the most beloved person in the room.

I really really really really love you to buddy!

Randoms

Max loved the fluffy bunny, kept cuddling him.
Starting friendships, so excited for him!

 Woody!

Daddy came to have lunch at school and Max does not know what to think.
Motor planning skills are improving!

Back home!

We took a trip to Florida, pictures will follow. Max started with this as his favorite song:

Magic - Rude

Needless to say we can't stand that song anymore after hearing it about a 1000 times.

Max switched preferences halfway though, I guess even he has a limit, and now likes this one:

Maroon 5 - Sugar

Starting to dislike that one as well....

3rd photo dump: New Orleans!

 The French Quarter
Walking on the levee, 9th ward is across the river.
Can't visit without visiting one of the many cemetaries.
 Family time!

 Oak Alley plantation

Locals for the week in Old Algiers
 Historic city walls
Taking the ferry to the French Quarter right across the river
The Garden district, so lovely. I want to stay here next visit.
Ann Rice's house is here, and many of her vampire stories take place in New Orleans, it's a mysterious city. This is not her house though ;-).

I love love love New Orleans!! I will go there any day, one of my favorite cities and locations in the world!

Daddy's home!

And I have to say this has been the warmest welcome he has received from Max so far. Max is totally obsessed with daddy right now. He follows him around like a little shadow saying things like "I want to sit with my daddy." "I want daddy to read the book, daddy, daddy, daddy." He wants to wear daddy's jacket, his flight suit and his patches. He actually wants to be like daddy!! This is a complete first for us, so we are going to get him a little flight suit as well.

When daddy had to leave for work real quick Max was unconsolable. Luckily it's only for a few hours this time. What a welcome home!

In daddy's flight suit

A little later: He just correctly described a feeling! "I miss daddy."
